The relaxing days of summer quickly became a faded memory as students in the East Meadow School District boarded bright yellow buses on Sept. 5. As academics young and old headed in doors they were greeted by administrators and teachers directly stragglers to the proper rooms.
It was a smooth and productive opening at all nine schools, said administrations. Students became reacquainted with friends, made new buddies and started a fresh routine for the 2012-13 year.
