PICNIC AT WATERFRONT PARK: The Freeport American Legion hosted a picnic for veterans on Saturday, August 15. David Cockerel, 1st Vice Commander of the William Clinton Story Post No. 342, said “about 30 veterans attended and we had a wonderful day enjoying each other’s company.”

Despite the heat, Freeporters managed to enjoy the great outdoors this week. They took part in a number of activities around town including a picnic for veterans, a day of golf to support the Freeport Chamber of Commerce, concerts along the Nautical Mile and a stroll through Freeport to support Catholic Charities.
