Teatime at St. Frances De Chantal Church

Posted

The women of the St. Frances De Chantal Catholic Church community dressed to the nines on June 10 for a special affair.

The church, which takes in parishioners from Wantagh, Seaford and surrounding communities, hosted the Parish High Tea at the Wantagh Knights of Columbus. The event was a fundraiser for the church, nestled in the heart of Wantagh.

The Rev. Vincent Schifano, the Catholic church’s associate pastor, organized the luncheon. Clergy and community volunteers encouraged women to wear fancy hats and outfits, and enjoy finger sandwiches and tea with friends and neighbors.

The congregants even had the chance to meet Queen Elizabeth — figuratively speaking. Attendees happily snapped photos with a cardboard cutout of the United Kingdom’s monarch.

Kate Saxton provided musical entertainment, playing the harp while women chatted and ate.
