Teen assaulted, robbed in Valley Stream

Police are seeking the man who assaulted and robbed a teenager on Central Avenue in Valley Stream early Sunday morning.

According to police, an 18-year-old male was walking on North Central Avenue shortly after midnight on Aug. 26 when he was approached by an unknown man on a bicycle. The robber stopped in front of the teen blocking his path, then punched the victim in the face before stealing his iPad.

The victim suffered a broken nose and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a black male, 19 years old, 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11 wearing a black sweatshirt, jeans and a black doo-rag on his head. He was riding a BMX bicycle and fled north on Central Avenue.
