The Five Towns Community Center Teen Board, made up local students from middle school to college, hosted a “Giving From the Heart” Christmas Party/Toy Drive on Dec. 18.
People who attended the event held at the Five Towns Community Center in North Lawrence brought new toys that were donated to St. John's Baptist Church Angel Tree Ministry in Inwood, which collects toys and gives to children of parents who are incarcerated. Over 60 toys were collected by the Teen Board, which serves as a sounding board for the youth in the Five Towns area.
The Teen Board's next event is an annual talent show to raise money for its Sadie E. Scott Scholarship Fund for students graduating in June on Jan. 23.
