With the success of last year’s carnival — which drew significant crowds to the Arthur J. Hendrickson Park pool parking lot — Valley Stream Presbyterian Church is bringing the event back on May 4, with a few new surprises for job-seekers.

“On Saturday we are adding a new twist this year,” said organizer Phil Jones. “We will be sponsoring a job fair with Allied Universal, which is the largest professional security guard company in the nation. They have a big hiring need to fill here on Long Island. We wanted to do something special for those who are looking for employment.”

Recruiters will be on site on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., Jones said, for what is being called a “come-as-you-are job fair.”

Dreamland Amusements, which operated the carnival last year, will return this year with its 70-foot Ferris wheel and dozens of other rides and attractions.
