'Tis the season for giving

The children at Hewitt School were honored with a visit by Mayor Mary Bossart on the morning of Nov.19 In the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday, members of Hewitt’s Student Council responded to the mayor’s request for food donations to help support families in need in the community.

Under the direction of student council advisors Rachel Vyskocil and Jamie Rudister, the students collected generous amounts of supplies from many of Hewitt’s families and the mayor was invited to oversee the packing and delivery process. This is just one example of the fund raisers that the school community undertakes throughout the year to help those less fortunate.
