Tom Chen withdraws from Board of Education race in District 24

Due to unforeseen career-related commitments, Tom Chen has withdrawn his candidacy for District 24’s Board of Education election on Tuesday, May 17.

Chen withdrew from the race late on Friday after the ballots had been printed, according to the school district. A physician account executive for Quest Diagnostics, Chen said that travel and a high workload was the reason for the withdrawal. Though disappointed, Chen said it was necessary he put his career first at this time.
