Upcoming registration for Saturday pre-K program

The Malverne Union Free School District is announcing a Saturday morning program for pre-school children with a focus on language improvement, cognitive growth and social development. Instructed by certified elementary teachers, children who will be three or four years of age by Dec. 1, 2011, and are toilet trained, are eligible to participate in the program.

The program is free for interested Malverne school district residents and will be held at the Maurice W. Downing Primary School, located at 55 Lindner Place in Malverne, on the following seven Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Sept. 24, Oct. 8, 15, 22 and 29, Nov. 5 and 19.

Registration for the program will take place at Downing, in the main lobby from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 16, 20, 21 and 22. It will also take place on Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to noon. In order to register, you must bring the following documents: driver’s license, mortgage papers/deed (lease agreement with notarized affidavit, if you rent), current utility bill, school tax receipt, updated immunization papers and the child’s original birth certificate.
