To express their gratitude to those who have served in the military, students in Malverne and West Hempstead made Valentine’s Day cards to be distributed to hospitalized veterans.
In Malverne, the entire fifth-grade class at Howard T. Herber Middle School used construction paper, glitter, markers and, most important, well-chosen words to thank the brave men and women for their service to this country, and to wish them full and speedy recoveries.
In West Hempstead, students at the Chesnut Street and Cornwell Avenue schools smiled wide as they showed off their Valentine’s Day bulletin board and cards. They were joined by County Legislator Vincent Muscarella and Hempstead Town Councilman Edward Ambrosino.
