Middle school students participate in Nassau Valentines for Veterans program

Sixth-grade students at Lynbrook North Middle School were proud to participate in the Nassau Valentines for Veterans Program. Students created dozens of hand-made cards expressing thanks to these brave men and women for their service to our country. But these were no ordinary valentines — each was modeled after the work of Jim Dine, an artist they had recently studied in class.
Last year, students throughout the county made more than 20,000 cards, which were distributed to veterans in local VA hospitals.
