Valley Stream Central High School District commended by state’s audit

A state audit released last week showed that the Central High School District’s payroll records were effectively maintained from July 2014 through September 2015.

“District officials have effectively ensured the accuracy of salaries and wages paid to employees,” said the report by Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli. “They have established effective payroll-related policies and procedures.”

Except for a few minor issues, the report indicated that salaries and wages paid to employees for the audit period were accurate and adhered to polices the Board of Education had set in place.

Superintendent Bill Heidenreich appreciated the response from the audit and its findings. “The positive feedback we received affirms our efforts to operate with the highest degree of fiscal responsibility, transparency and accountability to the students and taxpayers we serve,” he said in a reply to DiNapoli.
