Valley Stream Dime Bank robbed again

Nassau County Police are investigating a robbery at Dime Bank last weekend, the second time in a month it has been robbed.

According to police, an unknown man entered the bank at 175 W. Merrick Road at 11:45 a.m. on Dec. 28 and handed the teller a note demanding cash. The teller stated she did not have any money, and suspect fled without any proceeds. He was last seen heading northbound on foot on Fletcher Avenue.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, 6-feet tall wearing a black jacket with orange and white stripes, a Baltimore Orioles hat, blue jeans and white sneakers. There were seven employees and one customer inside at the time. No one was injured.

The bank was previously robbed on Dec. 10. In that instance, the suspect also did not receive any proceeds.
