Overcast Valley Stream resident dies in crash
A 22-year-old Valley Stream woman died early Tuesday morning after the car she was traveling in struck a tree near Kennedy Airport, police said.
Patina Deygoo was riding in the back seat of a 2010 Nissan when police say the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. Both the driver and a front seat passenger were injured in the crash and were transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. Police did not release the identities of the other women the car, but did say both were 26.
The accident occurred at 3:19 a.m. near the Kennedy Airport exit on the eastbound Nassau Expressway and Van Wyck Expressway, police said. No other cars were involved in the crash, and the NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the cause of the crash.
