Light Rain Car crash injures one, nearly hits Wantagh homeowner

A car careered off the intersection of Barberry Road and Hawthorne Drive S. and into a Wantagh resident’s side yard during the afternoon of May 7, injuring its driver and nearly striking the homeowner, according to the Wantagh Fire Department.
Officials said the car cut through the bushes of a homeowner’s side yard and nearly struck him. The driver was momentarily stuck in the vehicle due to a dirt mound that blocked the driver’s side door and was taken to Nassau University Medical Center with minor injuries.
According to police, the car crash was not deemed suspicious.
