“The Man Who Planted Trees”
Long Island Children’s Museum welcomes the Puppet State Theatre Company of Edinburgh, Scotland. The troupe presents the international, award-winning hit “The Man Who Planted Trees.” It is a unique blend of comedy, puppetry and inspired storytelling combined with the captivating adaptation of Jean Giono’s environmental cult classic. Pocahontas

The story of the young Native American girl and her friendship with English Captain John Smith is presented in a ballet version by Ballet Long Island. It’s part of Nassau Community College’s Classics for Kids series. Pocahontas – The Peace Maker is a new ballet for the entire family. It tells the tale of the young girl who believed in peace between Native Americans and English colonialists. The ballet is complete with beautiful costumes, scenery and inspired dancing.

Dinah Shore Celebrated
The entertainer is remembered at “A Celebration of the Life and Music of Dinah Shore” starring Lynn DiMenna. DiMenna, a celebrated cabaret performer and radio correspondent, accompanied by her musical trio, brings the audience a choice sampling from the songbook of one of radio and television’s most popular personalities for nearly a half-century. Enjoy this Dinah Shore birthday celebration, and delight in favorites such as “For Sentimental Reasons,” “It All Depends on You,” “I’ll Walk Alone,” and “Blues in the Night.”
