West Hempstead bank robbed

Police are seeking the man who robbed the Capital One Bank on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead on Thursday evening.

According to Robbery Squad detectives, the man entered the bank at 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 17 and handed a note to the teller demanding cash. The teller complied and the robber fled with an unknown amount of money.

The suspect is described as a black male, 35 years old, 6-foot with a thin build. He was wearing clear glasses and a dark hooded jacket.

There were eight employees and three customers inside at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.
