West Hempstead bank robbed again

Police are seeking the man who robbed the Capital One Bank on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead on Thursday. It is the second time that the bank has been robbed in a week.

According to police, a man entered the bank at 1:25 p.m. on Feb. 24 and verbally demanded cash from the teller. The teller complied and the man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The subject fled through the parking lot toward Nassau Boulevard. There were seven employees and no customers present at the time. No one was injured.

The bank was also robbed on Feb. 17 at 5:45 p.m. It is unknown if the two robberies are related.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20 to 30 years old, 5-foot-10 with a thin build wearing a red and black warmup jacket.
