West Hempstead High School’s Class of 2011, which earned more than $7.6 million dollars in scholarships for college, had two valedictorians this year — Jason Kappel and Jonathan Feldman — each of whom delivered a speech at the June 26 graduation ceremony at the Tilles Center.
“It is on our shoulders now to follow through on our responsibilities,” said Feldman in his speech. “The fact that we have gotten this far proves we have the abilities to go forward in life and be successful in whatever we deem success to be. We must keep striving towards this, while also realizing what is picked is never unalterable.”
