Woman robbed near Inwood train station

A 41-year old woman was the victim of a robbery that occurred in the vicinity of the Inwood Long Island Rail Road station on Friday evening, Jan. 29, according to Fourth Squad detectives.

Detectives report that two women approached the victim walking on Doughty Blvd. and knocked her to the ground. The subjects punched and kicked the victim as they pried away her black handbag strapped across her shoulder. The subjects then fled the scene on Doughty Blvd. with the purse containing cash and personal papers.

Both subjects were described as black females with thin builds wearing tight black nylon jackets and blue jeans with one having a short ponytail. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
