The gymnasiums at Valley Stream’s three high schools always seem to have a lot of activity happening inside, but usually it’s for high school games and practices. However, earlier this month, the gyms at South and Central played host to some younger students.

That’s what Matt Johnsen, head coach of Valley Stream South’s boys’ basketball team, had to say about his team’s leading scorer, Dana King, prior to the Falcons’ opening round playoff game against Great Neck North last weekend, which they won comfortably.
