He was diagnosed with metastatic bladder cancer and told he had only a few months to live. As he waits for the end, his daughter is trying to raise money to pay for his burial. more

John and Susan LaBarbera decided that this year’s golf-outing fundraiser would be the last, having built a quarter-million-dollar fund that will continue the scholarship for at least 50 years.
‘It’s been a labor of love’
Several hundred friends and acquaintances have gathered every Columbus Day for the past 10 years for the annual golf-outing fundraiser and luncheon in Johnny LaBarbera’s memory.
