Boy Scout Christopher Kosowski, of Bellmore’s Troop 285, held a fundraiser at Grace Baptist Church in Franklin Square on March 24 — along with several other members of the troop — to help fund his Eagle Scout project, which includes several improvement projects at Grace Baptist. Dozens of local residents attended the event, and $1,220 was raised for the project.

Six members of the Calhoun High School boys’ varsity soccer team recently received All-Conference honors. They are, from left, Alejandro Miguel (defense), Joe Cassisi (midfield), Angelo DiMatteo (forward), Vito Cassisi (midfield), Matt Donnelly (goalkeeper) and Dylan Delloiacono (forward). They were joined here by coach James Cantley. The squad made the playoffs this past season.

The Kennedy boys’ soccer team recently hosted Carey High School in the 11th annual Richard Daoust Memorial game, played each year in honor of Richard Daoust and Rick Hamilton, who dedicated many years to Kennedy soccer. Kennedy lost 3-0.

"Boy Meets World” was a great show.
Seriously, I looked forward to it every week. ABC’s T.G.I.F. lineup on Friday nights was awesome.
“Boy Meets World” was my favorite of those Friday night shows. One character in particular was special to me — and to most people in my age group — and that was Mr. Feeny.

They might not know it, but members of the Jericho boys’ swim team have targets on their backs. The Bellmore-Merrick Sharks tied Jericho last season, and fell to the squad by two points in a meet this year. The Sharks now say they’re hoping for a different outcome the next time the two teams meet, at the county championships in February. They want to win.

Evan Sachs of Merrick pleaded not guilty on Friday to charges of second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly stabbing an 8-year-old boy five times in the back inside a Dave & Buster’s restaurant in Westbury on Oct. 8.
