Nassau County police are looking into the latest in a series of incidents involving racist graffiti, this time in Merrick. According to police, a customer at the 7-Eleven on Merrick Avenue discovered anti-Semitic graffiti in block letters written on an outside wall on Dec. 16. Detectives are currently investigating. more
Holding candles and reciting prayers along with members of the clergy in Malverne, hundreds of people gathered for a vigil to pray for Malvernite and NYPD Det. Steven McDonald at the Charles Reese Memorial Park in the village on Jan. 9. McDonald, who had a heart attack on Jan. 6, is still in critical condition at North Shore University Hospital in Nassau County. McDonald reportedly died Jan. 10 at North Shore Hosptial while still on life support. He was 59 years old. more
