Of the 1,200-plus athletes drafted in last week’s Major League Baseball 2015 Draft, East Meadow and Salisbury residents may recognize a familiar name — Tim Ingram, a 2011 W.T. Clarke High School graduate who was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 31st round, with the 928th pick.

Shelby Soodek has played a big part in the Clarke Lady Rams’ softball team’s success this season, but you won’t see her name on any of the games’ stat sheets. Soodek, 20, who has autism, has been an honorary team member, joining the girls regularly for practices and cheering them on from the dugout at home games.
