The building at 381 Sunrise Hwy. -- commonly known as the Congressional Building -- has more than 40 cell antennas attached to the top of it, and now the village board is debating whether to let Metro PCS, the fifth largest wireless telecommunications network in the United States, put up six more more.

On a weekend when many local high schools, including their own, were reveling in the spirit of Homecoming on their football fields, members of Lynbrook High School’s Globe Club were reveling in the spirit of community service as they participated in the National Estuaries Day "Preserve the Reserve Bay Beach Cleanup" at Jones Beach Seal Watch Beach.

Changing the venue for the East Rockaway 9/11 Memorial Service due to rain seemed like a small inconvenience last Friday evening, when almost 200 people filled Village Hall to honor, remember and pray for the victims of the tragedy that touched and, in some way, changed all of the survivors’ lives eight years ago at the World Trade Center.
