A serious car accident has left 19-year-old Jordan Zides, a Lynbrook High School 2010 graduate, now in “fair” condition at Albany Medical Center, after the jeep he was traveling in hit another vehicle on an upstate New York highway on July 25. more

Rolling River raises funds
Campers and staff at Rolling River Day Camp in East Rockaway emptied their pockets recently to raise money for the camp’s second annual Coin Harvest Fundraiser. From July 19 to July 22, giant blue piggy banks were placed around the Rolling River campus and served as drop-off stations for campers to donate their spare change. The campers and staff raised hundreds of dollars — which will be matched by Rolling River to support two charitable causes. more

Lynbrook middle student raises money for cause
Lynbrook South Middle School student Grant Gilbert organized a fundraiser at his school, selling tickets for an Islanders game to raise money for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. With the help of Student Government members, he was able to raise $220 for this worthy cause. more
