Traffic issues need addressing
To the Editor:
Rabbi Dr. Edward Goldstein’s letter to the editor “Waiting for H-W to fix dismissal issues” (Feb. 20-26) could not have said it better on what many also experience with “traffic difficulties” on Williams Street, between Daub and Franklin avenues near the Yeshiva of South Shore.

The Lawrence School District and the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach (HALB) brought new meaning to a public-private partnership, when the public school district opened its middle school to 200 first- and second-graders of the private school after Hurricane Sandy.

Temple Israel of Lawrence concluded an exchange program with Orthodox Jewish students from Rome. In addition to educating youngsters about a different culture, the program was also designed to promote Jewish unity in the Five Towns between the Orthodox and Reform faiths with the Italian high school students spending the Sabbath with families from the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach.

The Hebrew Academy of Long Beach (HALB) Elementary School sixth grade boys’ basketball team capped off an undefeated season last week with a Metropolitan Yeshiva Day School Basketball League Junior Varsity championship over Westchester Day School 46-29 at North Shore Hebrew Academy in Great Neck.
