With so many people doing so much good in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, there was no way the Herald could single out just one Person of the Year. So we didn’t.

There has been a lot of progress made in the rebuilding efforts since Hurricane Sandy hit Long Island in late October, but there is still work to be done. The Long Island Volunteer Center is in need of volunteers to help those impacted by the storm.
