Sept 4: Fears of extensive flooding, power outages and property damage fizzled on Friday as Hurricane Earl passed far enough out to sea that Nassau County suffered little more than scattered beach flooding.
Even Jones Beach State Park, where extensive flooding was reported, had some areas open for swimming today and the Stone Temple Pilots concert planned for tonight at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater will take place as scheduled.
