Alexandria Wuria had not seen her father in over eight months. When U.S. Navy Lt. Anthony Wuria found out he was coming home for the holiday break, he decided to surprise his 3-year-old daughter at the Teaching Little Children Day Care Center she attends in Merrick. When he entered with her sister Briana, Alexandria screamed and run into his arms before clinging to his shoulder until the family left for the parking lot. Anthony Wuria was stationed at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, Africa, where he will return on Jan. 2 after the holidays. more

Rolling River Day Camp sits on five acres along Mill River, which snakes through East Rockaway and Bay Park on the way to East Rockaway Channel. The river can be a friend.
