Bellmore-Merrick Central High School seniors looking to party late into the night after the prom in a safe environment can continue to do so this year. Thanks to continual fundraising by the Bellmore-Merrick Wellness Council and a Nassau County Traffic Safety Board grant secured by Legislator Dave Denenberg, the Central District’s Midnight Madness post-prom party will take place on Thursday, June 21.

With more than 70 percent of election precincts reporting on Tuesday night, it appeared that Nassau County Legislator David Denenberg, a Democrat from Merrick, would cruise to victory over challenger Dr. Fred Jones, a Republican from Merrick. Denenberg had garnered 5,640 votes to Jones’s 2,012.
