The Seaford School District’s Anaphylaxis Committee presented its recommendations on April 21 to the Seaford school board that will help reduce the risk of contact for students with food allergies. Some of those recommendations include changes to cafeteria procedures and protocols, the elimination of food from class parties and communication about the dangers of food allergies to the community. more
Jones Beach State Park will see $10 million in additional improvements this year, continuing to build on renovations and upgrades made at the park in 2014. Aesthetic and structural improvements will be made to the bathhouses; and a new outdoor facility will promote healthy, active outdoor recreation; and there will be additional infrastructure improvements. more
The Seaford Board of Education adopted a 2015-16 school budget on April 16 that will allow the district to restore some programs and services while remaining within its allowable tax levy cap of 2.28 percent. The spending plan will be presented to the public for a vote on May 19. more
