Seniors from MacArthur High School — 329 of them — were draped in regal blue and walked across the Hofstra University stage on June 18 to receive their high school diplomas. Crowds of parents, siblings, teachers, administrators and staff filled the arena while they watched in support.

The Levittown Public Library hosts is summer reading kick-off this Saturday with an outdoor festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children, teens and adults can sign up for summer reading programs. Activities include magic illusions, line dancing, book signings and discussions, miniature golf, inflatable sports and a mobile game van.

They weren’t in trouble, though: MacArthur High School Principal Joseph Sheehan told them they were the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of the class of 2016.

The Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corps held its first community fair on May 15 at Island Trees Middle School in Levittown. In honor of National EMS Week, the organization, established in 1956, attracted more than 100 people to the fair to celebrate 60 years of serving the community.
