Representative Peter King got it right. Nidal Hasan, the 39-year-old Army major who killed 13 soldiers at Ford Hood and left many more injured, is a devoted Muslim of Jordanian and Palestinian decent. Witnesses at the scene said that before Hasan opened fire, he shouted, “Allahu Akbar!” Arabic for “God is great!” These are also the words shouted by suicide bombers before they attack and kill. While shooting, Hasan reportedly bowed his head in prayer while innocent people died. more

Much to the surprise of most Americans, the Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama. Their decision was based on Obama’s “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” They also noted his “vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.” more

Joe Wilson was a name unknown to most of us until he shouted “You lie!” at President Obama during the president’s address to Congress on Sept. 9. Now, the South Carolina Republican’s name has been circulating throughout every major media source in the U.S. and worldwide. Personally, I don’t think anyone can defend Wilson’s action of disrupting the president’s speech while he was addressing Congress. My friends in Congress tell me this was truly out of character for Wilson, and that he is a genuinely nice person and an honorable man. more
