There was a soccer game being played next door, and kids from the Boardman Elementary School Chorus frolicked near the gazebo with kids from Cub Scout Pack 230. Dr. Allison Glickman-Rogers, principal of Oceanside Middle School, has been selected for the Association for Middle Education 2014 Distinguished Educator Award. The AMLE is a national organization and Dr. Glickman-Rogers is the sole recipient of the award, but to hear her tell it, the honor is simply the result of being at the right place at the right time. more

Ryan Rausch, a product of Oceanside, is a busy man these days. In addition to working towards finishing his degree in health sciences at Gettysburg College, Rausch has added a minor in economics and hopes to start a career in hospital administration after he graduates. He is also the captain of the school’s cross country team, which opened its 2014 season with its Alumni Run last weekend. more
