Playing Division 1 football is no joke, says James O’Hagan, the Seaford High School graduate who is starting this fall for the University of Buffalo. The four-year varsity player for the Seaford Vikings is the center for the Bulls, which are 2-3 so far this season.

Getting his first Major League win was a “dream come true” for Seaford’s Sean Nolin, who recently earned a call-up with the Oakland Athletics. Nolin, in just his fourth big-league game and his second start of this season, earned the milestone victory in his team’s 5-3 win over the Texas Rangers on Sept. 12.

Two senior members of Seaford High School’s varsity baseball team, who played together since they were 6 years old and have supported each other ever since, will lend their talents to top-tier higher learning institutions next year. Lucas Hall will join the Columbia University Lions, a Division I team, and Jake Doyle will play for the Vassar College Brewers.
