Kennedy High School students Alexa Kudish, Ariana Maiberg and Lee Sager were recently honored for their outstanding achievements in the Future Business Leaders of America’s 2011 competition, which took place from April to July. The trio progressed from the FBLA’s regional contest to the state competition in Rochester and finally nationals in Orlando. The three specialized in the Banking and Financial Systems category.

Business in Baldwin may not yet be booming, but it was at least budding over the weekend as LEARN, a new children’s fitness and nutrition center, opened its doors on Merrick Road, just east of Grand Avenue. A number of local dignitaries were on hand to break the seal on the new center at a ribbon-cutting celebration last Saturday.
