by Ex-Captain Steve Grogan Emergency Medical Company and the Extrication Team responded to a reported auto accident at the intersection of Peninsula Blvd and Hempstead Avenue at approximately 10 a.m. on April 1. Upon arriving at the scene, Lynbrook police officers, followed by Second Deputy Chief Anthony DeCarlo, found the driver of the vehicle involved had driven into a curb on the corner after swerving from a turning tractor trailer truck in the intersection.   The vehicle and the truck never collided, however a second vehicle received minor damage from the first vehicle, whose driver was taken to South Nassau by the Medical Company. The Extrication Team stood by. more
Bellmore firefighter Justin Angell was released from Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow on Thursday morning. A little more than 24 hours before his release, Angell had been shot by a car crash victim whom he was attempting to help on Bellmore Avenue in Bellmore. more
