Religious institutions in Glen Cove and Oyster Bay have been weathering the Covid-19 pandemic successfully, finding positive ways to reach the faithful. Virtual methods adopted by these institutions have allowed for an increase in community participation.

On Saturday, a drive-by farewell took place at Central Synagogue-Beth Emeth in Rockville Centre so congregants could send their wishes in person –though at a distance—to Rabbi Marc Gruber and Rabbi Elliot Skiddell, both of whom are retiring this month. More than 60 families drove past the synagogue, holding signs, waving and honking as the rabbis sat in the shade, spaced apart.
