Q. My house is always drafty, and a pipe froze and my whole kitchen was flooded. The plumber fixed the pipe but said the insulation wasn’t done right and the pipe could freeze again.

Q. I put up a new stockade fence because my neighbor and his children kept using my yard. Now that there is a 6-foot fence, the kids throw baseballs, basketballs, you name it, against the fence and it is now damaged.

Q. We were flooded out, and our deck was destroyed. The yard was so bad we decided to remove everything and put in an in-ground pool. Now we have a concrete patio and pool, but from day one it looked terrible.

Q. As per our house engineer’s recommendation after closing in 2005, a new roof was installed on our “new” cape to replace the flat old brittle roof. Within a year, shingles began to bulge and curl, and the roofer returned to repair them.
