Flash is headed to Towson
West Hempstead High School student and hoop-star Jamel Flash recently signed a letter of intent to play Division I basketball next year at Towson University in Maryland. Flash, a 6-11 center for the Rams boys' varsity squad, received a full-scholarship from the university. Towson competes in the Colonial Athletic Association. more

Judge postpones Corbin’s trial
A federal judge last Friday postponed Nassau County Legislator Roger Corbin’s tax evasion trial until Feb. 8. The trial, originally set to begin on Oct. 19, had been rescheduled to Nov. 30. more
