Every June 15 we commemorate World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. It is important that we speak openly about elder abuse, because it is a hidden crime that most Americans are reluctant to talk about or even acknowledge.

More than $2,200 was raised for the 2019 Senior Night, the after-prom party at Dave and Busters, at the first-ever Hewlett-Woodmere public schools staff volleyball championship. The event attracted roughly 500 people who saw the Hewlett High School staff go undefeated and capture first place on Feb. 28.
