Hundreds of people from Long Beach came out to support the Long Beach Waterfront Warriors at the organization’s first 2010 fundraiser at Lola’s restaurant on May 3. Proceeds from the event will be used to support wounded, ill and injured soldiers and their families to visit the city for a few days for rest and relaxation for the second consecutive year. This year, the city plans to host about 30 families from July 25 to 29. City Councilman John McLaughlin, who spearheaded the project last year, greeted guests at Lola’s, who each donated $50. Proceeds from Lola’s and the upcoming fundraiser at the Inn, on West Beech Street on July 18, will be used for transportation, entertainment and accommodations for the families.    The Long Beach Waterfront Warriors organization welcomes your support and invites all to join them in making this year’s visit even more memorable than last year.   Log onto lbwaterfrontwarriors.org or write to info@lbwaterfrontwarriors.org for further information on this rewarding experience.
