Police officers nabbed Matt Delucia, 17, and Kevin Hassan, 16, both of Merrick, while they were burglarizing Calhoun High School on Sunday night, according to the Nassau County Police Department’s 1st Precinct. Delucia and Hassan reportedly ran as the officers approached, but they were stopped and arrested after police corralled them just feet off campus, at Relyea Drive and Charlson Court.

Ambulances rushed one teacher and 14 students Thursday afternoon from Camp Avenue School in North Merrick to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow due to possible carbon monoxide poisoning. All 15 were evaluated at the hospital and released, according to NUMC spokeswoman Shelly Lotenberg.

A North Bellmore Fire Department volunteer was recently arrested and charged with setting fire to a car outside a local home, authorities said.Nassau County Police Department officials said that Matthew Greve, 25, was charged with third-degree arson at his arraignment on July 3. The felony charge stems from a May incident in which he allegedly set another man’s car on fire on purpose.
