Cops: Teens break into Calhoun at night

Police officers nabbed Matt Delucia, 17, and Kevin Hassan, 16, both of Merrick, while they were burglarizing Calhoun High School on Sunday night, according to the Nassau County Police Department’s 1st Precinct. Ambulances sat Thursday afternoon outside Camp Avenue School in North Merrick. A boiler in the school leaked "black smoke," according to the North Merrick School District. School officials called 911 "as a precaution," said North Merrick Superintendent David Feller.
