Members of the North Merrick Fire Department took part in the 6th Battalion Parade and Drill hosted by the Massapequa Fire Department this past weekend, and North Merrick came in fourth place overall in the drill, taking home a trophy in nearly every race category, and second place as Best Appearing unit of 15 to 30 members in the parade.

As is the annual tradition, the Merricks marked Memorial Day on Monday with a community parade that stretched from Veterans Memorial Plaza in downtown Merrick (formerly Broadcast Plaza) to the War Monument in North Merrick, and residents by the hundreds turned out for the event.
