The chief elections for the Rockville Centre Fire Department are scheduled for April 7. Members of the department will vote for Chief of Department (John Busching), 1st Assistant Chief (John Thorp) and 2nd Assistant Chief (Robert Seaman and Brian Cook are both running for the position). more

Two of Rockville Centre's bravest to join board of county Firefighters Museum
John V. Murray and John A. Mirando, two Rockville Centre residents and new members of the board of directors of the Nassau County Firefighters Museum and Education Center, were recognized at a special reception on Museum Row in Garden City on July 14.  As elected members of the board, they will serve in an advisory capacity in all matters pertaining to the operation of the museum. more

Stephen's legacy lives on
Stephen’s House of the New York Foundling was officially dedicated on Nov. 17. Not far from the Verrazano Bridge on Staten Island, the $14.5 million dollar, five-story building was named in honor of firefighter Stephen Siller, a former Rockville Centre resident who, like many first responders, gave his life on Sept. 11 so that others might live. more

Open house this Sunday
The Rockville Centre Fire Department will host an Open House at each of its five neighborhood firehouses this Sunday, Oct. 4 in observance of Fire Prevention Week. more
