In reference to the Herald’s article of June 7-13, “Stream project to alleviate flooding,” I commend the village board for seeking out and being awarded a federal grant for stream improvements. Focusing on removing debris and sand will certainly improve the flow of water and alleviate flooding. more
Members of Envision Valley Stream discussed cleaning up streets, parks and waterways, creating a teen center and ways to cut down on excess telephone poles at their meeting on May 31 at Sip This on Rockaway Avenue. more
Valley Stream has been an incorporated village since 1925 but history was being made here even before that. Over the years, there have been plenty of interesting historical events and figures that called Valley Stream home. Just ask members of the Valley Stream Historical Society. more
