It's time for summer sounds with the L.I. Philharmonic this weekend

Late summer is a musical time throughout the area. The Long Island Philharmonic visits Eisenhower Park for a delightful evening of popular classics on Friday. Over at Long Island Children's Museum, The Silly Dilly Band entertains kids of all ages with their musical hi-jinks, along with a theatrical adaptation of the popular Dora the Explorer television series, on Sunday. more

Despite the on-and-off-again rain showers during the B-52’s concert at Eisenhower Park on Aug. 6, thousands attended the show. The B-52’s, who have been misconceived as British, actually formed in Athens, Georgia in 1976, and garnered wide popularity in the late 1970s and 1980s. more

Long Island musicians pay tribute to Harry Chapin

Long Island troubadour and anti-hunger activist Harry Chapin died in a crash on the Long Island Expressway 30 years ago. On Monday evening, Long Island musical artists gathered at East Meadow’s Eisenhower Park to perform a concert and food drive in tribute to the late singer-songwriter, playing his songs for the cause to which he was dedicated. more
